La Petite Maison's Drink – A Recipe

WThis is a simplified version of a drink featured on our latest menu. It's a batch premix which is bursting full of tastes associated with holiday season, which makes it excellent for hosting a celebration. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup you can use for breakfast cocktails, sweets, or for another batch of bikinis.

Yields 10 guests

For the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

For the Premix (yields 850ml, to serve 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish

Directions

Making the Cordial: Place all the components in a pot, bring to a light boil, agitating to dissolve. Next, turn off the heat and leave to cool fully. Pour into an sterilised bottle, seal and refrigerate it in the fridge, where it will keep for around one month.

For the Cocktail Base: Mix the specified liquid ingredients into one large bottle, let it rest for an hour, then filter it preferably using a fine cloth, so it's fully clarified.

When ready to serve: Add 85ml from the cocktail base to a mixing glass containing ice, and stir lightly for one minute to cool it down. Strain into an frosted cocktail glass or similar, decorate with a few cranberries and complete it with a brief mist with the mandarin essence over the top.
